QR stand for Quick Response, it is the 2D squares symbols that put the information, URL website or picture in it. But QR code can access only use the smartphone to capture the QR code and then the information will show immediately. Otherwise, your smartphone have to support this function; if you don’t have the QR code scan on your smartphone, you will not get the information that you interest.
In the modern age, QR code is use for marketing mostly. For example, the company promotes their product and service by using QR code on the newspaper, social networking, and public transportation. And then, the company will get the feedback from customers; the product can be popular or make the income to the company more than the same. Anyway, QR code can increase the income or make it becomes favor by word-to-word.
In 2016, it is the first year that Thailand Scan Me was used. Department of Tourism was a plan to choose 12 cities you should never miss, 57 tourist attractions with 253 boards, and 6 world heritage area with 30 boards; and last are 13 national parks with 28 boards. Now, the information has 2 languages are Thai and English. The languages that will put in the QR code in the future to support the foreigner are Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese and Bahasa Melayu.
Tourism QR code campaigns that utilize the unique abilities of the 2D barcode by enhancing the consumer’s experience, rather than simply using the technology for the sake of technology. There are a few good examples of QR done right. In this case, the use of QR is an ideal solution for delivering additional content such as photos and audio recordings to visitors who are literally in the middle of a sidewalk. Not only can the tourism industry use QR code to get the information, but also the hospitality industry as well. The hospitality industry has come up with some interesting ways to use them to help ensure that guests enjoy their stay. An example of one innovative way that QR codes are being used to relay information to guests is being used at the National Conference Center. The codes are posted at different locations throughout the facility to indicate eco-friendly policies. Guests scan the QR codes to learn more about other areas of the premises where the green initiatives are being used.
